What is Gravel Fondo?
“Gravel Fondo” is PAPERtrail’s way to experience pro-level coaching & support at your own pace. This includes entry to gravel events and races around the U.S. It is perfect for the fun seeker and goal smasher. Ride the events alongside our staff for your best day on the bike.
What is Rooted Vermont?
Vermont’s terrain is challenging and unrelenting but to those who call it home, they wouldn’t have it any other way. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, not unlike the winter. Although surrounded by Vermont’s hallowed gaps throughout each route, we won’t cover terribly long climbs here. Instead, you’ll find shorter and sometimes steeper climbs that collectively take their toll over the course of each challenging ride.
SIP OF SUNSHINE COURSE: 86 miles, 8,000 ft of climbing
LITTLE SIP COURSE: 48 miles, 4,000 ft of climbing
Ride Surface and Technical Difficulty
The rides will mostly be on unpaved, gravel roads in Vermont. All of the roads are vehicle roads, and are maintained. Vermont is known for its dirt roads. Riding on pavement will be necessary to connect the route.
Climbing makes this trip a 3 out of 3 on the technical scale. Vermont’s gravel landscape spans across valleys, hills and mountains that traverse the state. Expect to climb about 1000’ per 10 miles.
What should I bring?
For the bike: Helmet, Pedals, Computer & Mount. While we are providing a kit to you, please bring an additional kit. Also clothes, toiletries, electronics, and other travel essentials.
